A Pergola Paradise

Our clients wanted to transform their garden into a family friendly space where they could eat, relax, play and enjoy the beautiful views. Being able to use the garden in all weathers was important and a pergola was high on the wish list. They also wanted the front garden updated to be pretty but low maintenance and a new path to the front door while keeping parking.

Before

After

We created a large raised patio level with the back of the house to allow for a great space to relax and entertain friends and family. A large, contemporary metal pergola was commissioned complete with a glass roof allowing the space to be used in all weathers. The upper patio also affords stunning views across to The National Wallace Monument as well as the perfect place to relax in a hammock. A stunning warm sandstone paving was used to create the upper patio as well as the paths around the front and back gardens.

Modern rendered raised beds were built as retaining to the raised patio and were filled with stunning grasses, lavenders and herbacaeous planting giving a fragrant and tactile finish to the patio.

A curving path takes you down to the kids zone with a barked finish and space for their play equipment and a raised bed to grow some delicious blueberries for snack time!

A winding brick path leads you to a feature tree complete with tree seat to enjoy the garden from a different view point. A gravel finish and grey fencing give a beautiful backdrop to the stunning new plants in the garden.

A new shed is tucked away in the corner to allow plenty of storage.

Lighting has been added with brick lighting in the raised beds and uplighters around the garden so it can be used into the evening too.

At the front, a new sandstone path creates an easy and welcoming entrance to the front door. Curving paths lead you around the back while a new lawn, boulders, gravel and planting make the front garden an attractive and welcoming space now. A bin store is tucked away around the side and the driveway was widened to the side and relaid to give easy access to parking.
