Our clients had a new-build garden with awkward slopes and poor drainage which meant they rarely used it. They wanted to turn it into a contemporary space where they could sit outdoors and relax both day and night. New seating areas, retaining walls, lighting, water feature, screens and a low maintenance finish were all on the wish list.
The clients were keen for a clean contemporary finish so the retaining walls were designed with a modern smooth rendered finish. A bespoke in-built seat was created and lighting was also built in. Contemporary screens are a strong feature of the garden with “Kerplunk” style screens adding interest to the back fence and more screens to be added to screen the shed.
A beautiful contemporary water feature was chosen by the clients with lighting added so it can be enjoyed day and night. A contemporary grey sandstone paving was used to create the main patio, a smaller patio beside the house and the linking paths.
To keep the garden low maintenance artificial grass was installed which also helps with the poor drainage. Beautiful shrubs in gravel create year round interest whilst remaining low maintenance. Decorative grasses, lavender and herbaceous planting were added to the raised bed for interest, scent and colour.
With the addition of the landscape lighting this garden can truly be used day & night.
