Our clients new build home had a very sloping back garden which had been turfed but was not very usable. Our brief was to create different seating areas, to make the slope more accessible and to create a peaceful garden in which our client could relax and do yoga. Some lawn, a water feature and a wildlife friendly garden were also on the wish list.
At the house, we create two new curving limestone patio areas, a larger one for tables and chairs and a smaller one for practicing yoga. To the side of this area is a beautiful standing stone water feature creating a beautiful relaxing feel.
A curving limestone path path leads you down through the garden with gentle steps making for an easy passageway to the third seating area. A beautiful circular deck basks in the afternoon sun and has a bespoke pergola planted with climbers to add shade, interest and scent.
Timber retaining walls allow for a flatter, more usable lawn area which is easy to maintain. The borders were then planted with an array of wildlife friendly planting and given a thick mulch to suppress weeds.
